Anxiety has a powerful effect on our bodies and emotional well-being.  Our brains can get stuck with stress buttons permanently in the “ON” position. This can impact our eating, sleeping and general health not to mention how easy or not we are to live with!

The good news is that it doesn’t have to be like that, and we can learn techniques that skilfully incline the mind and body to be relaxed calm and confident.  We can play in our imaginations with being supremely calm and confident and give ourselves behavioural experiments to test out these new ways of being in our lives.

In sessions with me we will talk about what kinds of things trigger your anxiety and work together so that your behaviours, feelings and thinking can offer you a sense of well-being, hope and openness.  For example, one client I worked with was supremely anxious about an approaching event; she was full of dread and foreboding about how awful this event was going to be.

Together we explored what exactly the worst-case scenario was.  She bravely looked at it and with compassion understood why her mind was constantly worrying about it.  This freed her to consider that it might be a positive thing and even something to look forward to and relish!
